Yes. The Internet connection for CapTel 840i/880i is NOT an Internet-based phone service. It only provides captions. Users must still have their own telephone service as well as an Internet connection to use the CapTel 840i/880i. The telephone service can be any type, including analog, VOIP, DSL, FOIS, or cable phone service. CapTel 840i/880i requires an analog port if used within a PBX network.
