1. Minnesota Zoo

If you’re an animal lover, you are bound to have a whale of a time at the Minnesota Zoo. Packed with both ticketed and non-ticketed events all weekend long, the Zoo also features unique exhibits and exotic animals. Meet red pandas, sand tiger sharks, seahorses, the snowy owl, and more. Check out assistive listening devices for events at the Target® Learning Center indoor theater and the box office at the IMAX Theatre.
2. Minneapolis Institute of Art

Enrich your stay with a visit to a globally-inspired treasure trove at the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia). Here, you’ll find over 90,000 works of art representing more than 20,000 years and six continents. Featured exhibits that will be on display during the HLAA Convention include The Many Voices of Colonial America, Touring Japan Through Landscape Prints, and Jan Groth Linear Tapestries. Mia is a free hearing loss-friendly activity and offers individual or small group tours where assistive listening devices and ASL interpreters are available by request.
3. Dream Big

Head to the Science Museum of Minnesota to watch, Dream Big: Engineering our World, a larger-than-life Omnitheater film showcasing engineering marvels from around the world. If soaring above a bridge at 700 mph and learning the ins and outs of underwater robots and solar cars are up your alley, you’ll enjoy this hearing loss-friendly activity in Minneapolis. With Rear Window® Captioning that displays reversed captions on a light emitting diode text display in the rear of a theater, you can enjoy this film by attaching transparent acrylic panels to your seat to reflect the captions, so they appear superimposed on the movie screen.

4. Minnesota Twins Baseball Game

The Minnesota Twins are playing at home all weekend during the HLAA Convention. Take in a game at Target Field against rivals, Boston Red Sox or Texas Rangers, from Thursday through Sunday. Active military members or veterans and up to three guests can enjoy half-price Home Plate View Tickets on Thursday afternoon or take in a brilliant fireworks display on Friday night. Visit the Guest Services Center on the Main Concourse to request a state-of-the-art assistive listening device for your game-watching pleasure.
5. West Side Story Musical

Step back to the 1950s with the iconic American musical, West Side Story, on Saturday evening at 7:30 pm at Guthrie Theater. Hosted by HLAA, this looped theatrical performance event includes bus transportation to and from the theater, and captioned and sign language interpretation will be available. 6. Twin Cities Highlights Tour
